Biodegradable and recycled office supplies from C-Line

Environmentally Friendly Office SuppliesC-Line makes it easier to protect
the environment with their line of biodegradable and recycled products.

Amid the world’s growing concern for our planet’s preservation, C-Line has begun to develop office products that can be a benefit to the environment.

For many years the company has included recycled sheet protectors and recycled project folders in their product line, made from at least 70% pre-consumer recycled content.

Last year, C-Line became the first manufacturer to introduce biodegradable sheet protectors and biodegradable project folders to the industry. You may thinking, what exactly makes a plastic holder biodegradable? Well, biodegradable products must be “capable of decomposing under natural conditions”, according to the EPA. The products are made from polypropylene which contains an additional additive that allows it to biodegrade when tested according to the ASTM D5511. ASTM testing indicates this product will biodegrade in two to five years when buried in an anaerobic landfill. Because of the wide variation in landfill systems, actual timing may vary.

The company has just introduced a name badge holder that is biodegradable, recyclable and compostable to complement the other C-Line biodegradable and recycled office products in the product offering. And as an added benefit, the biodegradable name badge holder does not require pins, string or lanyards. The top portion is notched in a special way, that allows the holder to slip over any shirt button and hang from there.

Happy Earth Day!

Sheet Protectors with hook and loop flaps are your best friend at meetings

Side Load Sheet Protector With Hook and Loop Flap
To better organize for my meeting, I used the side loading sheet protector with a hook and loop flap as a binder pocket to hold all my materials in one place.

The other day, I had to prepare for an off-site, all-day meeting.  I needed to bring materials including reports, presentations, slides, etc. to this meeting, and knew that I would need to reference them frequently throughout the day. I was not liking the thought of either putting every sheet of paper into its own sheet protector and having to pull each one out as I needed it or, worse, having my papers just thrown about. I decided that I needed a quicker and neater solution – enter the Sheet Protector with a Hook and Loop Flap!

This particular sheet protector acts as an additional binder pocket to hold all your lengthy documents and more. With its top load and side load options, I was organized and ready for the day-long meetings in no time.

Side Load Sheet Protector With Hook and Loop Flap
I kept my meeting materials in order and color coded with the side loading sheet protectors with hook and loop flaps.

Another benefit of these sheet protectors – the assorted colors. The different bright colors allowed me to easily find certain reference materials without having to hunt for a title or heading on a paper or report. I knew that red meant new product development and yellow was for promotional worksheets.

The system worked absolutely fabulously! And my meeting, that went brilliantly as well. And remember, sheet protectors are your friend!

Write-on Project Folders and Zippered Expanding File team up for the ultimate in on-the-go organization

Write-on Project Folders and Zippered Expanding File In Use Together
A combination of different colored write-on project folders and the expanding file with a zipper are an excellent way to remain organized, whether traveling or in the office.

Expanding File with Zipper In Use
The zippered expanding file holds up to 300 sheets
of paper and fits in most briefcases, computer
bags and work bags.

Just the other day, a friend sent me the above picture – displaying how he uses a combination of Write-on Project Folders and the Expanding File with Zipper to stay organized. His job requires that he travel about 80% of the time (I guess you would consider him a “road warrior”), so it is essential for him to remain organized at all times. And despite the fact that he may be driving hundreds of miles and meeting with four customers on a single day, by using this system, he manages to do just that.

Thanks for the photos, Don!

Black-out Security Sheet Protectors
C-Line helps consumers better protect their
information by introducing an opaque, totally black sheet protector – the Black-out Sheet Protector.

Happy April Fool’s!

If you missed our April Fool’s Day Post, here it is:

Capitalizing on the growing trend towards privacy and document security, C-Line has created the ultimate in document storage protection – the Black-out Security Sheet Protector.

In my opinion (and that’s really what this blog is comprised of, isn’t it?), the Black-out Sheet Protector is one of the most innovative office supply items of our time. You will no longer have to worry about co-workers, visitors, etc. getting a “sneak peek” at your papers. In order to read the document inside the protector, one would have to remove the sheet of paper, which should act as a deterrent for any office snoop. If that does not deter them, during the time it takes them to remove the paper and read it you can catch them in their information thievery. If none of that works and they still get what they’re looking for, well, then I believe you may want to try a lock on your binder (C-Line’s Lock-out Binder with built-in pad lock will be available later this year).

The Black-out Sheet Protector will be coming to a store or website near you this spring. Be sure to buy a box and try them for yourselves. Once you do, come back here and let me know how it worked for you.
