A vinyl report cover gives your presentation a touch of polish and professionalism.

The punchless vinyl covers come in a variety of colors to choose from. Want to shock the reader? Pick the red cover.  Looking for something a bit more professional? Choose the blue or smoke options. Think that yellow is the color of the season, use one of those.

Each box of colored covers comes with 1/8″ binding bars, or “bones” as we call them internally.  Bones of this size hold up to 20 sheets of paper.  But what do you do if your report is a bit longer than that? Use a larger bar, that is.  With sizes up to 1/2″, which holds up to 60 pages, you should have no problem fitting your entire report.

Why do you I like this item?

Durability – The heavyweight vinyl holds up, even during my most rigorous projects. Not long ago, I was involved in a major project that required daily meetings to review multiple spreadsheets, data sheets, marketing materials and more.  The pile of paper got large fast, but the folder never faltered or ripped – it held strong throughout the entire duration. Plus, I like the non-glare, pebble-grain finish of the material.

Versatility – Being available in both letter and legal sizes helps to keep various materials organized. This versatility came in handy during that long project. A lot of the documents used were letter size, but there were a few spreadsheets that were so large, they need to be printed on legal size paper.  When that happened, I conveniently filed those papers in the larger folder. Sometimes, I put a smaller folder inside the larger one with the legal sized spreadsheets, if the contents were closely related.

Color – I love to organize by color, and when the project warrants that, I turn to the color backed version to lend some assistance. With folders available in black, red, green, blue and clear, I am able to color code my assignments. Again, with that recent project, there were many aspects to the overall project and I took advantage of the colors to help divide it up by task – black = website additions and revisions, green = new marketing materials, red = new packaging components, and on and on.

Last year, the write-on project folder was my favorite “new” product. With all the help these have given me lately, the deluxe vinyl project folder is my favorite “old” product!

It just so happened that this year, my husband and I each picked people who had quite lengthy lists.  So to organize the lists and other gifts ideas, I used the write-on project folders – one of my favorite products!

So, where to begin when selecting a report cover? You have a few options available, so choose the one that best meets your needs or preferences.

Vinyl or Polypropylene

These vinyl report covers in assorted traditional colors feature a binding bar for a polished look for your presentation.

The poly report cover shown above comes in fashion colors and features a swing clip to hold your document in place.

Some people prefer to use only poly products, while others like the durability of vinyl. With your presentation materials, you can have your cake and eat it too, as they are available in both materials.  Most vinyl report covers feature a see-through finish, while only the clear poly cover does. So if clarity is what you are going from, you may want to stick with vinyl. And if you have your mind set on a non-see-through vinyl cover, check out the non-glare version.

Clear or Color

To really make your presentation stand out, consider using a color report cover. The vinyl covers come in a variety of traditional colors that include red, yellow, green, blue, smoke or gray and clear. The poly report cover is available in fashion colors such as purple, lime green, pink, blue and black.

Binding Bar or Swing Clip

Some users really don’t have a preference on color or finish, but do when it comes to the binding system. Luckily, there are two to choose from. The traditional binding bar or backbone is separate from the cover, and is used by sliding it along the edge of the cover once all papers have been inserted. The swing clip of the Clip ‘N Go report cover is permanently attached to the cover. It can be easily swung in and out to accommodate quick page changes.

That’s right, as a way to promote employee wellness and happiness, employers are setting aside time for employees to have a recess today. It can be anything from volunteering or community service to a walk in a nearby park. Anything to break up the normal routine of the workday. So, wherever you are, make sure to stop what you are doing for 30 minutes and enjoy a recess from work today.

C-Line At The Office

For Judi’s everyday office organization, she likes all of the report covers and project folders, but it is the box of assorted colored projects folders that she favors above all other products. The other day, I needed to put together an impromptu status report on projects and events for C-Line’s 60th anniversary, which is Monday, June 1st! It was not a long report, just an overview of events we have done around the office – expenses, task completion dates, marketing plans through the end of the year, etc. And although the request was for quick overview, I still wanted it to look stylish for everyone. After all, this is a big event for the company, especially given the current economic climate. So, I looked no further that the Clip ‘n Go Report Cover.

So why did I choose this item, out of all of the organizational products in the line?

• Color – The bright color assortment was a great way to grab everyone’s interest in the report. Usually, reports are put together with a staple to save time and office supplies, and special attention is never paid to those documents. Not this time around.
• Capacity – The 30-page capacity of the report forced me to keep it brief. I don’t know you could tell from the posts, but I can be wordy at times, especially when writing about something fun.
• Longevity – The covers are made of heavy duty polypropylene, so the company would always have this for their records, making great reference material for future anniversaries. And for all the sentimental people in the office, they could save it and always be reminded for the 60th.

Looking back on it, I’m glad I went with this selection, versus a simple staple.
