Plastic badge holders were the perfect bridal shower addition to introduce the bridal party to all of the guests. Here is mine – a biodegradable name badge that I attached from my shirt button.

I created the tags by downloading a 4 x 3 badge template from the Template Gallery. From that file, I was able to customize each badge with a wedding-themed image. Then, because I did not know in advance what the other two people would be wearing, I was sure to bring an assortment of plastic badge holders to suit any clothing style. For instance, one woman wore a silk dress, which doesn’t really suit a clip or pin style holder, but the magnetic or hanging style did. Since the blue or white hanging cord options would have clashed with her brown dress, she opted for the magnetic version. With what I was wearing, I chose one of the biodegradable name badge holders, and attached it to my short button for the more eco-friendly option.

As guests arrived at the restaurant, they were greeted by all of us, and instantly knew who we were and what our role in the wedding was. Throughout the afternoon, during the bridal games, lunch and gift opening, it was easy for people to get our attention when they knew our names. Many attendees had questions about the wedding, and while my sister was bopping around the room, trying to get to every table, she is still only one person. So we, as the bridal party always is, acted as her backup for the day. Having people know our names put them at ease. It is not too graceful of a situation to have someone yelling out, “Hey bridesmaid over there, what time does the ceremony start?”. It is much easier to say, “Lindsay, what time does the ceremony and reception begin?”.

In my opinion, I think having our names on display in name badge holders, helped our guests feel like part of the family and enjoy the afternoon that much more.

Amid the world’s growing concern for our planet’s preservation, C-Line has begun to develop office products that are eco-friendly.

For many years the company has included recycled sheet protectors and recycled project folders in their product line. Not only are these products made from recycled material, but are recyclable themselves.

Last year, C-Line became the first manufacturer to introduce biodegradable sheet protectors and biodegradable project folders to the industry. You may thinking, what exactly makes a plastic holder biodegradable? Well, biodegradable products must be “capable of decomposing under natural conditions”, according to the EPA. The products contain an additional additive that allows the item to breakdown when deposited in a landfill or the ground. Depending on environmental conditions, the sheet protectors and project folders fully degrade in two to five years.

The company has just introduced an eco-friendly name badge holder that is biodegradable, recyclable and compostable to complement the other C-Line environmentally-friendly office products. And as an added benefit, the biodegradable name badge holder does not require pins, string or lanyards. The top portion is notched in a special way, that allows the holder to slip over any shirt button and hang from there.  Now, how is that for environmentally-friendly?

After reading my post about write-on project folders, my friend sent me this picture of how he uses the product at work. How do you use write-on project folders in your office?

This 2009, 60th Anniversary catalog allows you to flip through pages so you can see our products just as they appear in the printed edition of the catalog.  In addition, you can search the catalog, add custom bookmarks to the catalog and, best of all, link from any page in the catalog right to the product on the website.  You can even download a pdf copy of a page from the catalog (or a range of pages) to store on your own computer or print out for your records.

Say, for instance, that you are a meeting planner and regularly reference the C-Line products you use when organizing a meeting.  Item 95543 is a plastic name badge holder you use for all your meetings.  Item 87507 is a name tent holder that you use for all your panelists.  Here are some of the things you can do with the new e-catalog.  First, search for 95543.  Then click on the page showing the badge in your results.  Next, use the bookmark feature to add a bookmark to the page.  That way, the next time you go to the catalog, you can turn right to the page you bookmarked.  Next, use the note feature to add a note to the page so you can remember things like which free c-line template you use when making these badges.  Then add a bookmark to the 87507 page as well.  You are the only one who sees your own bookmark and you see it anytime you return using the same computer.

Another great feature is the e-mail feature.  You can send a copy of the page to your client so they can see it.  Finally, you can click right on the link that is part of the page and go right to the C-Line website where you can see the product and search for a dealer near you.

This new-fashioned C-Line catalog really is a great combination of old and new.
