As we went through the house, I noticed that the builders had put to use some of C-Line’s shop ticket holders.

The first one that I noticed was the Welded Vinyl Shop Ticket Holder. Throughout the house, the builders had used the holder to hang up various pieces of information such as copies of final inspections and schedules. Because of the ticket holder’s eyelet, it made it easy to attach it to a wooden beam or temporary door.

This kept information visible to all contractors throughout the process. In addition, the documents were always on hand in case there was any discrepancy over an inspection.

The other C-Line product at work was the Self-Adhesive Vinyl Shop Ticket Holder. In order to display building permits at all times, the holder was affixed to the front window. Once applied to a dry, clean, flat surface, documents were prominently displayed and visible to anyone who may enter the house.

Curious of the product choice, I asked the builder why he had chosen to use the products. Apparently, the major benefit provided for this particular circumstance was that the contents of the holder were protected. Being in a rough environment, the documents would normally become stained or damaged without the shop ticket holder.

By using both the Self-Adhesive and Welded Vinyl Ticket Holder, the builder was able to display important information. This allowed for contractors to be mindful of inspection dates, even when the builder may not be on site.

I was impressed by the organization of the builder. Unfortunately, I forgot my phone so I do not have a picture of the shop ticket holder at the construction site. My apologies.

As students look for ways to cut back on the overall cost of attending college, more bookstores have been able to offer a cheaper alternative to textbooks. Unbound, three-hole punched “books” have become the latest way for students to reduce the burden of textbook expenses.

To me, however, this product is ideal for storing weekly “To-Do” lists.

Between work, home and school taking up a large amount of my time, I like to create lists in order to organize my thoughts. Writing down what I need to accomplish within a week, makes it easy to prioritize tasks in order to complete them on time. The three removable tab dividers will divide my various lists into three sections.

Since the notebook is so compact in size, I am able to store it directly in my purse. This allows me to pull it out and make myself notes at any time.

So, the item up first (and my one of my favorite new items) is the Poly Expanding Legal Document Case!

As with any of our other document cases, the benefit of this product is that it has the ability to store numerous files within one compact carrier.

All of the document cases sport fabric gussets that allow for it to expand, which increases the capacity of the case. In addition, the elastic closure ensures that documents and files are all securely stored in the document holder.

The document case fits in my laptop bag, which ensures all my files are secure and organized.

So what separated the new Expanding Document Case from the rest? The size! This is C-Line’s first legal size document case, which adds a whole new dimension to the carrier. The case, which is 15 x 10 in size, has the ability to store multiple size documents in order to make it a more versatile product.

This case has become particularly valuable to me. I have been able to use it as somewhat of an organizer for my laptop bag.

Since my bag is already split into two sections, I keep my laptop on one side of the divider and the other side has various documents, files, pens etc. Unfortunately, I was beginning to become somewhat frustrated with my bag since the files never seemed to be entirely secure.

Thankfully, the document case fits directly into my laptop bag. Any files or information that seemed to be loose in the bag are now stored directly in the document case for extra security. Being that it is legal size, I have no concerns that larger documents will fit.

C-Line has made a conscious effort in the past to contribute to this effort by releasing an entire line of recycled and biodegradable office products. You can find everything from recycled sheet protectors to biodegradable pencil cases.

Many of the recycled products have been made from 70% pre-consumer recycled content. C-Line was the first to develop a recycled polypropylene top loading sheet protector. Within this category, there are project folders, binders and paper portfolios to choose from.

In order to be considered a biodegradable product, the polypropylene material used to make the product has to contain an additional additive that allows it to biodegrade when tested, according to the ASTM D5511. To be more technical, C-Line sheet protectors (04907) and C-Line Binders (48300) exhibit a 5.56% (04907) and a 3.78% (48300) weight loss after sixteen days at 52 degrees Celsius while untreated products showed no weight loss.  In a longer test of similar film treated with EcoPure, Polyethylene, 1 cm thick cross linked grey foam, has been found to biodegrade an average of 43.0% in 518 days under conditions that simulate a biologically active landfill, using the ASTM D5511-02 test method.  Tests are generally conducted using 20% to 30% solids content; solids content in naturally wetter landfills range from 55% to 65%, while the driest landfills may reach 93%. Actual biodegradation rates will vary in biologically-active landfills according to the type of plastic used, the product configuration, and the solid content, temperature and moisture levels of the landfill.

The cause of becoming more sensitive to environmental issues to extremely important and C-Line continues to try to do what they can to contribute.

In order to prevent myself from mixing up or even losing information from a meeting, I have begun using C-Line’s Clipboard Folder to keep all project information and notes sorted and organized.

Personally, taking notes is the easiest way for me to retain information. In the past, I have used one notebook to write down all my meeting notes. The problem I ran into was that the information all seemed to run together, making it difficult to decipher what information pertained to what project.

In order to avoid information from being jumbled together, I have begun using a clipboard folder per project that I am working on. I typically use the clipboard to hold a letter size notebook. This makes it easy to store notes on a particular project directly within this folder.

Additionally, the durable plastic folder has a clear pocket on the inside. This allows for me to store smaller notepads, meeting handouts or minutes from the previous meeting. Although the pocket doesn’t have as much capacity as the clip can hold, it still becomes beneficial for random documents that may be acquired.

The clipboard folder has a pen loop that provides convenient storage ensuring the pen will stay put.  Since the clipboard is enclosed in the folder, it provides privacy for any materials that may be stored within the folder. This may become especially useful if traveling with the clipboard to a customer, for example, and not all information or notes should be seen.

Up until this point, we had only provided letter-sized envelope selections. However, at the beginning of this year, C-Line introduced a Legal Size Reusable Poly Envelope.

The Reusable Envelope is a translucent smoke color, which makes it easy to identify what is stored in the envelope.

The side loading envelope is versatile in how it can be used. You now have the option to store both legal and letter size documents in one location. Additionally, the 1-inch gusset allows the envelopes to expand creating additional space for storage.

The envelopes can be a valuable tool within the office. Whether you personally use it for document storage or interoffice mail, it gives you more storage flexibility. In addition, the envelopes can also be a unique way to provide hand-outs or present large spreadsheets to a client.

The neutral smoke color makes it appropriate for work use, but the item can certainly come in handy at home. Although you may not think you encounter legal size documents often, I beg to differ.

Recently, I have run into several instances where I have needed to store legal size documents and have been very ill-equipped.  Through doing taxes and receiving end of the year investment statements, I was left with a stack of legal sheets and no way to store them.

Just when you thought C-Line could not be more innovative with their products, we have done it again!

Imagine a sheet protector that has the ability to allow individuals to read in the dark. Although this may seem impossible, we have made it a reality. In fact, we are so excited about the product that we decided to let the public know as soon as we could.

The Glow-in-the-Dark Sheet Protector protects documents as all sheet protectors do. However, the difference with this unique product is that it allows you to read the content of the sheet even in dark rooms.

With a glow like that, it would be hard not to see the items on the page!

There are a variety of situations that would call for a glow-in-the-dark sheet protector. One in particular occurs quite often within the workplace during presentations. Utilizing a PowerPoint as a presentation aid is very common. Usually, people tend to turn off the lights, in order to make the projected images easier to see.

Obviously in a dark room, it may be difficult to follow along with the presentation in a binder that you were provided with. However, if the presenter had opted to use the glow-in-the-dark sheet protector this problem could have been avoided.

The document holder would have provided a light glow that would have enabled users to see the writing on the sheet. In addition, the glow is soft so as not to disrupt others in the room.

At this point, these sheet protectors only come in letter size. However, should this item take off, which we anticipate it well, we will look at releasing a legal size.
