How to use name badges this holiday party season

Yes, autumn officially started last week and the first day of October is this Friday! Can you believe how fast this year has gone already? I can’t either.

I want to take this time to go over a couple of tips for using name badges during your holiday parties. Remember, using name tags can relieve some guest awkwardness or apprehension because they will already know names of other guests.

A few weeks ago, I told you about my department’s annual project planning organization. Since that post, we have delved full-force into our planning and I have found that the majority of spreadsheets need to be printed on legal size paper. But that doesn’t mean I need to leave them out of the planning binders. For these papers, I use our legal size sheet protectors.

Right now is the time in the year where we have a short moment to pause and regroup before beginning numerous fall projects in the department. One of these projects will include data collection and analysis to help with our plan for 2011. The data hub for these projects resides in a few binders that sit in my office. (Yes, I know we are in the technological age and there is constant talk of a paperless society, but like it or not, paper still rules most offices.)

These binders contain a compilation of data sheets, spreadsheets, research papers and more. Many of them are multi-page documents that need to stay that way and putting each individual page of the printout in its own holder is just not practical for these purposes. So I use our high capacity binder sheet protectors.
